This is one of those pieces that draws you in to take a closer look at how it's made and what it is made of. Go ahead and touch it's textured, smooth metal folds. People can't help wanting to feel it.
This very interesting piece is made of metal, aluminum to be exact, mounted on a large wood panel, with a black floating wood frame. The aluminum "tiles" have been distressed (bent, dented, scratched) and painted with several layers of enamel paint. Then the paint is sanded to expose the layers of paint as well as the metal. Look closely, the edges of each of the 30 pieces are exposed metal. It is really quite cool in person. The variations of blue along with the distressing and exposed metal make this piece very dimensional. The wood panel has a black floating frame so the metal is slightly recessed from the frame edge. The size of this piece is 25" x 41" x 1.5". It weighs approximately 8.5 pounds. It has a regular hanging wire on the back and is ready to hang.
